Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 American cheese slices
  • 12 pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty, about the size of the slider buns. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the surface with a small amount of oil or butter.

Step 4

Cook the beef patties in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until nicely browned and cooked to your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place half a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, spread the softened butter onto the cut sides of the slider buns. Toast the buns on a separate skillet or griddle until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

Assemble the sliders by spreading a thin layer of ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a pickle slice. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy your Old School G a Sliders!
