Ingredients

  • 226 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 120 ml whole milk
  • 150 grams Nutella

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a standard loaf pan (approximately 9x5 inches) with butter or non-stick spray. Line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.

Step 5

Reduce the mixer speed to low and alternately add the dry flour mixture and the milk in three additions, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined; avoid overmixing.

Step 6

Spoon half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Warm the Nutella slightly in the microwave (about 15-20 seconds) to make it easier to spread.

Step 7

Dollop half of the warmed Nutella onto the batter and use a knife or skewer to gently swirl it into the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and Nutella, swirling again to create a marbled effect.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Step 9

Allow the pound cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Slice and serve as is or with a dusting of powdered sugar for an elegant touch. Enjoy!
