Ingredients

  • 6 large Eggs
  • 100 grams Smoked salmon
  • 3 tablespoons Cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Dill
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons, optional Capers
  • 0.5 teaspoon, for garnish Paprika

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a medium saucepan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Remove the eggs from the hot water and transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let the eggs cool completely, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Gently peel the eggs under cold running water. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks, placing them into a mixing bowl.

Step 4

Mash the egg yolks with a fork until smooth. Add the cream cheese, chopped smoked salmon, dill, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the filling is well-combined and creamy.

Step 5

If using capers, finely chop them and fold them into the filling mixture.

Step 6

Using a spoon or a piping bag fitted with a round tip, fill the egg white halves generously with the smoked salmon mixture.

Step 7

Sprinkle a light dusting of paprika over the stuffed eggs for garnish. Optionally, garnish with additional small dill sprigs or tiny pieces of smoked salmon for decoration.

Step 8

Refrigerate the stuffed eggs for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 9

Serve the Norwegian Stuffed Eggs as an appetizer or part of a brunch spread, and enjoy!
