Ingredients

  • 400 g Spaghetti (or your choice of pasta)
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • 0.5 cup Pasta water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Step 2

Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 0.5 cups of pasta water before draining, then set the pasta aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine and let it warm through for about 2 minutes.

Step 6

Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stirring constantly to melt and incorporate into a creamy sauce.

Step 7

Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Step 8

If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little bit at a time until you achieve the desired consistency.

Step 9

Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the cheese sauce.

Step 10

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
