Ingredients

  • 1 lb Pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 5 leaves Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

Step 2

On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.

Step 3

Brush 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the surface of the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges for the crust.

Step 4

Mince the garlic cloves finely and sprinkle them evenly over the olive oil-brushed dough.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving the border untouched.

Step 6

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the ricotta layer, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 7

Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the top of the cheeses. If you like a little heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes as well.

Step 8

Using a pizza peel or the back of a baking sheet, transfer the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.

Step 9

Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned in spots.

Step 10

Carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, before slicing and serving.
