Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard
  • 8 pieces Pickle slices
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 medium Red onion

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands, ensuring the seasonings are evenly distributed without overworking the meat.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Use your thumb to make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 4

Once the skillet is hot, place the burger patties in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without pressing down, to ensure a good sear.

Step 5

Flip the patties and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the second side. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt. Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for a minute.

Step 6

While the patties are resting, slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds.

Step 7

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to create the special sauce.

Step 8

Toast the hamburger buns in a clean skillet or toaster until golden brown.

Step 9

To assemble the burger, spread 1 tablespoon of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, a cooked patty, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles. Finish by spreading a little more sauce on the top bun and placing it on the burger.

Step 10

Serve the Nani Burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as fries or a fresh salad.
