Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 6 cups tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 pcs green onions, chopped
  • 0.25 cup black olives, sliced
  • 0.25 cup pickled jalapeños, sliced
  • 0.5 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess fat.

Step 3

Add the taco seasoning and water to the cooked beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat.

Step 4

In a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish, spread a layer of refried beans evenly across the bottom.

Step 5

Sprinkle half of the tortilla chips over the beans, breaking them into smaller pieces if necessary to create an even layer.

Step 6

Spread the seasoned beef over the tortilla chips, followed by a layer of salsa.

Step 7

Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese over the beef and salsa.

Step 8

Add another layer of tortilla chips on top, then sprinkle the remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over them.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the nacho pie rest for 5 minutes to set.

Step 11

Top the pie with sour cream, green onions, black olives, pickled jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and fresh cilantro.

Step 12

Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy your Nacho Pie!
