Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, minced garlic, diced onion, Italian seasoning, fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix all ingredients gently with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Step 3

Scoop mixture into even portions (about 2 tablespoons each) and roll into balls. Place the meatballs on a plate or tray.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 5

Cook the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes per side, until browned on all sides. Use tongs to carefully turn them.

Step 6

Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a plate and continue cooking the remaining batches.

Step 7

After all the meatballs have been browned, you can finish cooking them in a simmering marinara sauce for about 10-15 minutes, or bake them in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 10 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

Step 8

Serve immediately with your choice of sauce and sides, and enjoy your homemade meatballs!
