Ingredients

  • 500 grams mutton mince
  • 2 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 medium, finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 finely chopped green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup, chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle for a few seconds.

Step 2

Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Step 3

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.

Step 4

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and blend with the onion mixture.

Step 5

Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the spices to blend well.

Step 6

Add mutton mince and stir well to coat with the spice mixture. Cook until the meat changes color.

Step 7

Pour in water and cover the pan with a lid. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 8

Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Continue to cook until the water evaporates and the mince becomes dry, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 9

Stir in garam masala and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for another minute.

Step 10

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
