Ingredients

  • 450 g button mushrooms
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 125 ml dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth or paper towel. Trim the stems if necessary, then slice the mushrooms into thick slices (around 0.5 cm).

Step 2

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter and olive oil. Allow the butter to melt completely.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 5

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté the mushrooms for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and begin to brown.

Step 6

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the mushrooms and stir to distribute evenly.

Step 7

Pour the white wine into the skillet and stir gently, allowing it to reduce for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 8

Turn off the heat and stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice to brighten the flavors.

Step 9

Serve immediately, either as a side dish or on toasted bread as an appetizer. Optionally, garnish with additional parsley.
