Ingredients

  • 200 grams button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 small onion
  • 100 grams cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth or brush and finely chop them.

Step 3

Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Mince the garlic and finely chop the onion, then add both to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Step 5

Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and it evaporates. Stir occasionally.

Step 6

Remove the skillet from heat and let the mushroom mixture cool slightly.

Step 7

Mix the cream cheese, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper into the mushroom mixture until well combined.

Step 8

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into rectangles (approximately 10 cm by 15 cm each).

Step 9

Place a spoonful of the mushroom filling on one end of a pastry rectangle and roll it up tightly, sealing the edges by pressing lightly.

Step 10

In a small bowl, beat the egg with the tablespoon of water to create an egg wash.

Step 11

Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Step 12

Arrange the mushroom rolls on the prepared baking tray, leaving some space between them.

Step 13

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Step 14

Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
