Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 8 ounces White mushrooms
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 4 slices Muenster cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-6 minutes until softened and browned.

Step 4

Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Step 5

Pour the heavy cream and chicken broth into the skillet, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to slightly thicken.

Step 6

Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Spoon some sauce and mushrooms over the top of each piece.

Step 7

Lay one slice of Muenster cheese over each chicken breast. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F).

Step 8

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with your choice of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
