Ingredients

  • 12 oz Pasta (linguine or tagliatelle)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 16 oz Button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of the pasta cooking water.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat in a large skillet.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

Step 4

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and have released their moisture.

Step 5

Lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well and allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 6

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 7

Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to taste, adjusting the seasoning as needed.

Step 8

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it well to coat with the creamy mushroom sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually stir in some of the reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving and enjoy your comforting bowl of mushroom cream pasta immediately.
