Ingredients

  • 500 grams button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion
  • 200 milliliters heavy cream
  • 100 milliliters dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them evenly.

Step 2

Finely dice the onion, mince the garlic cloves, and chop the parsley.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3 minutes until soft and translucent.

Step 5

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 6-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture and begin to brown.

Step 7

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

Step 8

Deglaze the pan with the dry white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let the wine simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.

Step 9

Stir in the heavy cream, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer gently for 5 minutes until thickened.

Step 10

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the fresh parsley.

Step 11

Serve hot as a side dish or over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta for a complete meal.
