Ingredients

  • 500 grams Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 250 grams Button mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 medium Yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • 200 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 100 grams Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (for greasing the baking dish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a medium-sized baking dish with butter and set aside.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute, then stir in the sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms have released their liquid and are tender.
