Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 6 oz Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined, being careful not to overwork the meat mixture.

Step 3

Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1/2-inch cubes.

Step 4

Take about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture and flatten it into a disc in your hand. Place a mozzarella cube in the center and fold the meat around it, rolling it into a ball to completely seal the cheese inside. Repeat until all the meat mixture is used.

Step 5

Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 6

Once all the meatballs are browned, return them to the skillet and pour the marinara sauce over them.

Step 7

Cover the skillet with foil or an oven-safe lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Remove the skillet from the oven and let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm with pasta, crusty bread, or enjoy them as they are!
