Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fresh tuna steaks
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges

Directions

Step 1

In a small mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, ground cumin, paprika, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to make a marinade.

Step 2

Place the fresh tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure each steak is evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 10-15 minutes at room temperature.

Step 3

Heat a large non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Sear the tuna steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of doneness. The tuna should be nicely browned on the outside and slightly pink in the center for a medium-rare finish.

Step 5

Remove the tuna steaks from the heat and let rest for 2 minutes.

Step 6

Sprinkle the seared tuna with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for garnish and added zing.
