Ingredients

  • 500 g ground lamb
  • 1 small, finely diced onion
  • 2 tbsp, chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200 g plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp, finely chopped mint leaves
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces sliced tomatoes

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, finely diced onion, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties about 1-inch thick. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, and when it's hot, place the burger patties in the pan.

Step 4

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, the internal temperature should be 160°F (71°C).

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by combining Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and finely chopped mint leaves in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cooked lamb patty and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce on top. Cover with the top bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your choice of side dishes, such as fries or a fresh salad.
