Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and lay the noodles flat on a clean surface to prevent sticking.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine.
Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
