Ingredients

  • 4 pieces minute steaks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 250 grams button mushrooms
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Pat the minute steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, cook the steaks for 1-2 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside, keeping them warm.

Step 3

Add the remaining olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the mushrooms and sauté for 4-5 minutes, or until softened and golden.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Step 5

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

Step 6

Gradually pour in the beef stock, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.

Step 7

Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken further. Season with additional salt and pepper, to taste.

Step 8

Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the mushroom sauce over them. Allow them to warm through for 1-2 minutes.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with your choice of side, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
