Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground lamb
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

  • 1 medium, finely diced Carrot
  • 14 ounces Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup, chopped Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 9 no-cook sheets Lasagna sheets
  • 2 cups, shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup, grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.

Add the ground lamb to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the diced carrot, crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce on low heat for 15 minutes. Once done, mix in the chopped mint leaves and set aside.

Top the lasagna sheets with 1/3 of the lamb sauce, 1/3 of the béchamel sauce, and 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella. Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
