Ingredients

  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 grams Granulated sugar
  • 50 grams Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 large Egg
  • 210 grams All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 100 grams Mini chocolate chips
  • 480 milliliters Milk (for serving)
  • 150 grams Chocolate (for lining cups, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line it with silicone muffin liners.

Step 2

In a large bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

Step 3

Add the vanilla extract and the egg to the bowl. Beat until well combined, scraping down the sides as needed.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Step 6

Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Divide the cookie dough into 6 equal portions. Take each portion and press it into the muffin cup, pressing it against the sides and bottom to form a cup shape. Leave a hollow center for the milk later.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and set.

Step 9

Remove the cookie cups from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Then, carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

If desired, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Use a pastry brush to coat the insides of each cookie cup with a layer of chocolate. This helps keep the milk from soaking into the cookie. Let the chocolate set completely.

Step 11

Once the cups are completely cool and the chocolate lining, if applied, has set, pour cold milk into each one and serve immediately.
