Ingredients

  • 500 grams ripe plums
  • 250 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the plums thoroughly and pat them dry.

Step 2

Cut the plums into small pieces, discarding the pits, and place them in a large microwave-safe bowl.

Step 3

Add the granulated sugar, freshly grated ginger, lemon juice, and water to the bowl with the plums. Stir well to combine.

Step 4

Place the bowl in the microwave and cook on high power for 5 minutes. Remove the bowl carefully (it will be hot) and stir the mixture.

Step 5

Return the bowl to the microwave and cook for another 5 minutes on high power. Stir again and check the consistency.

Step 6

If the jam is not yet thickened, microwave for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired consistency. Keep in mind the jam will thicken further as it cools.

Step 7

Carefully transfer the hot jam to a sterilized jar while it's still warm. Seal the jar and let it cool to room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.

Step 8

Serve the jam on toast, pancakes, or use it as a condiment for savory dishes. Enjoy!
