Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Juice of 1 lime
  • 0.5 cup Pico de gallo
  • 4 Pepper jack cheese slices
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until the spices are evenly distributed.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, place the burger patties in the skillet or on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Step 4

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty to melt. Optionally, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the skillet during this time.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, mash the avocado in a bowl and mix it with the juice of 1 lime. Set aside.

Step 6

To assemble the burgers, spread the mashed avocado mixture on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cooked burger patty.

Step 7

Spoon a generous amount of pico de gallo on top of each patty, then cover with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your Mexi Burgers!
