Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 0.25 cup red onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 tablespoon mint
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup cucumber
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomatoes

Directions

Step 1

Finely dice the red onion, mince the garlic, and chop the parsley and mint.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, diced red onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped mint, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, black pepper, and feta cheese. Mix gently until just combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1 inch thick.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once hot, cook the lamb patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 5

While the patties cook, prepare the yogurt sauce by combining Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and finely diced cucumber in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly in the oven, toaster, or on the grill, if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers: Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked lamb patty. Add a slice of tomato and a dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted potatoes or a fresh salad.
