Ingredients

  • 500 g Lean ground turkey
  • 60 g Whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large egg
  • 50 g Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 30 g Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 100 ml Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, feta cheese, parsley, 2 minced garlic cloves, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a plate or tray.

Step 4

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine tomato paste, olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey, smoked paprika, and the remaining minced garlic clove. Stir in water and bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

Step 5

Lightly oil the grill grates or line a baking sheet with parchment paper if using the oven.

Step 6

Place the meatballs on the grill or prepared baking sheet. Cook for 10 minutes, then brush each meatball with the BBQ sauce.

Step 7

Continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with more sauce, until the meatballs are cooked through and nicely glazed.

Step 8

Remove the meatballs from the heat. Serve warm with remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
