Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup BBQ sauce (preferably Texas-style)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, and whole milk. Mix gently to combine.

Step 3

Add the eggs, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until the ingredients are just combined, but do not overwork the mixture to keep the meatloaf tender.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly to form a loaf shape.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and ground cumin to make the glaze.

Step 6

Spread half of the BBQ glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 7

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining BBQ glaze over the top. Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Slice and serve the meatloaf warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
