Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1 cup Grape jelly
  • 1 cup Chili sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Red chili flakes

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet or large plate.

Step 3

Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches (do not overcrowd the pan) and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and fully cooked through. Remove the cooked meatballs from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the grape jelly and chili sauce. Stir until the jelly is fully melted and combined with the chili sauce to form a smooth sauce.

Step 5

Add the red chili flakes to the sauce and stir to distribute. Adjust the spiciness to taste by adding more chili flakes if desired.

Step 6

Return the cooked meatballs to the pan with the sauce. Gently toss the meatballs to coat them with the sauce, and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 7

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy them on their own as an appetizer or over cooked rice or noodles for a heartier meal.
