Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup Onion, finely minced or grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let them sit for 5 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, ground pork, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, minced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Gently mix the ingredients together with your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing as it can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.

Step 5

Using your hands or a small scoop, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place each meatball onto a baking sheet or plate.

Step 6

Once the skillet is hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Sear the meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned.

Step 7

After searing, transfer the meatballs to a baking dish or leave them in the skillet if oven-safe. Bake in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes before serving. Use them immediately in your recipe, or cool completely and store in an airtight container for later use.
