Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cups Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small, golf-ball-sized meatballs. Place them on a large plate or tray.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, searing them on all sides until browned. This should take 5-7 minutes per batch. Set the browned meatballs aside on a clean plate.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and add the barbecue sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Stir well to combine and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Return the meatballs to the skillet, turning them gently to coat them in the sauce. Cover the skillet and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Once the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the skillet from heat.

Step 7

Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with chopped parsley (optional). They pair wonderfully with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
