  • 300 grams All-purpose flour
  • 7 grams Active dry yeast
  • 50 grams Granulated sugar
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 120 milliliters Whole milk
  • 150 grams Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 200 grams Marzipan
  • 5 milliliters Vanilla extract
  • 100 grams Powdered sugar
  • 15 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 30 grams Sliced almonds

Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk to about 40°C (lukewarm) and dissolve the yeast in it. Let it rest for 5 minutes until bubbly.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut 100 grams of butter into small cubes and mix it into the flour until you have a crumbly mixture.

Add the yeast mixture and the egg to the flour mixture. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes. Cover and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

While the dough rises, prepare the filling. In a small bowl, mix together marzipan, 50 grams of softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
