Ingredients

  • 1 pound Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh orange juice
  • 1.5 tablespoons Red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 cups Ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

In a medium pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.

Step 2

Add the raw shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Step 3

Immediately remove the shrimp from the boiling water and transfer them to a large bowl filled with 2 cups of ice and water to stop the cooking process. Let the shrimp cool completely, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

While the shrimp cool, prepare the marinade. In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, orange juice, red wine vinegar, honey, minced garlic, paprika, red pepper flakes, parsley, dill, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Once the shrimp have cooled, drain them well and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 6

Place the shrimp in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the shrimp, ensuring all shrimp are fully coated.

Step 7

Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour, or up to 4 hours, to allow the flavors to develop.

Step 8

Before serving, give the shrimp a gentle toss to redistribute the marinade. Serve chilled on a platter or in small appetizer glasses, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
