Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground mustard
  • 0.5 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Remove the silver skin from the back of the rib racks. Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground mustard.

Step 4

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

Step 5

Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover tightly with more aluminum foil.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, or until the ribs are tender but not falling apart.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the maple barbecue sauce. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Step 8

Add the maple syrup, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and garlic powder to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

Step 9

Simmer the sauce for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavorful. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 10

Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F/175°C).

Step 11

Once the ribs come out of the oven, brush them generously with the maple barbecue sauce. Reserve a small portion of sauce for serving.

Step 12

Grill the ribs for 5–7 minutes on each side, until slightly charred and caramelized. Brush with additional sauce while grilling for extra flavor.

Step 13

Remove the ribs from the grill, let them rest for 5 minutes, then cut them into individual portions.

Step 14

Serve the ribs with the reserved sauce on the side and your favorite accompaniments.
