Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, diced onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Step 3

Mix everything thoroughly using your hands or a large spoon, but avoid overmixing as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet or press it evenly into the loaf pan.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard to make the glaze.

Step 6

Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 7

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze over the top. Return it to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes to lock in the juices. Slice and serve warm. Enjoy your Magic Meatloaf!
