Ingredients

  • 450 grams Chinese long beans
  • 100 grams Macadamia nuts
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece Fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Trim the ends of the Chinese long beans and cut them into 2-inch pieces. Set aside.

Step 2

Roughly chop the macadamia nuts and lightly toast them in a dry pan over medium heat until golden and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3

Mince the garlic cloves and grate the ginger. Set them aside for later use.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, and water to make a sauce. Stir until well combined and set aside.

Step 5

Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let them burn.

Step 7

Add the Chinese long beans to the wok and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still slightly crisp.

Step 8

Pour the prepared sauce over the beans and toss to coat evenly. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 9

Stir in the toasted macadamia nuts and cook for an additional 1 minute.

Step 10

Transfer the dish to a serving plate and, if desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for garnish.
