Ingredients

  • 500 grams broccoli
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoons red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 30 grams parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 60 milliliters water

Directions

Step 1

Wash and pat dry the broccoli. Cut it into bite-sized florets, and lightly peel the stems if desired.

Step 2

Peel and finely slice the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5

Sprinkle the red chili flakes into the skillet and stir for 30 seconds to release their flavor.

Step 6

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Stir to coat the broccoli evenly in the oil and spices.

Step 7

Pour the water into the skillet and cover it with a lid. Let the broccoli steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until it is tender but still slightly crunchy.

Step 8

Remove the lid and allow any excess water to evaporate. Increase the heat to medium-high and sauté the broccoli for another 2-3 minutes to develop a slight char.

Step 9

Turn off the heat and drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the broccoli. Toss gently to combine.

Step 10

Transfer the broccoli to a serving dish and top with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Serve warm and enjoy!
