Ingredients

  • 1 piece pre-made pie crust
  • 250 grams Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 100 grams spinach, fresh and chopped
  • 10 pieces cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 large eggs
  • 120 milliliters heavy cream
  • 60 milliliters whole milk
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 100 grams mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).

Step 2

Roll out the pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie or tart pan. Trim any excess and crimp the edges as desired. Poke the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling. Blind bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Step 6

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and whole milk. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Step 7

Layer the cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, halved cherry tomatoes, and shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the base of the prepared pie crust.

Step 8

Pour the egg mixture over the filling, ensuring everything is evenly covered.

Step 9

Bake the quiche in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.

Step 10

Allow the quiche to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
