  • 60 ml Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 120 ml Marinara sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

Peel and grate the carrot using a fine grater and set it aside.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk, letting them soak for 5 minutes to create a moist mixture.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated carrot, soaked breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Using clean hands, mix everything together thoroughly but gently to avoid overworking the meat.

Step 6

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and press it down gently to form an even shape.

Step 7

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the marinara sauce, olive oil, and sugar, stirring until heated through.

Step 8

Pour half of the marinara sauce mixture over the uncooked meatloaf, spreading it evenly with a spoon.

Step 9

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes.

Step 10

After 50 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining marinara sauce over the top.

Step 11

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).

Step 12

Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
