Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds Italian sausage
  • 1 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cups Milk
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoons Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoons Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are fully incorporated, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it evenly to form a loaf shape.

Step 4

Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 5

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Step 7

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy with a side of roasted vegetables or a simple green salad.
