Ingredients

  • 250 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 60 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 30 milliliters Milk
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 15 grams Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 15 milliliters Olive oil
  • 240 milliliters Marinara sauce
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 15 grams Unsalted butter

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, about the size of your burger buns.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 4

While the patties are cooking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.

Step 5

Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Step 6

Cut the burger buns in half and spread a thin layer of butter on the cut sides. Toast the buns in a separate skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.

Step 7

To assemble the burger, spoon 1-2 tablespoons of warm marinara sauce onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the meatball patty with melted mozzarella cheese on top. Add another 1-2 tablespoons of marinara sauce over the cheese, and then cover with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as crispy fries or a fresh salad.
