  • 3 liters (for boiling pasta) Water
  • 1 tablespoon (for boiling pasta) Salt

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with 3 liters of water and bring to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and the penne pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually 10–12 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
