Ingredients

  • 500 grams Large prawns (peeled and deveined)
  • 150 grams Greek yogurt (thick)
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Tandoori masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves (chopped, for garnish)
  • 8 Skewers (if grilling)

Directions

Step 1

Clean and rinse the prawns thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, add Greek yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, ground cumin, garam masala, turmeric powder, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

Step 3

Add the prawns to the marinade and coat them evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 4 hours for better flavor absorption).

Step 4

If using skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.

Step 5

Preheat your grill, oven, or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly grease the cooking surface to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers if grilling, or arrange them directly on the cooking surface.

Step 7

Cook the prawns for 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and slightly charred. Do not overcook, as prawns can become rubbery.

Step 8

Transfer the cooked prawns to a serving platter and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Step 9

Serve hot with lemon wedges, mint chutney, or your favorite side dish.
