Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 3 large, minced Garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon, grated Ginger
  • 2 small, finely chopped Green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons, finely chopped Cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon, or to taste Salt
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 tablespoons, for frying Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies.

Step 2

Add the chopped cilantro, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix in the breadcrumbs and crack in the egg. Combine the mixture thoroughly using your hands until everything is evenly incorporated.

Step 4

Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking and shape the mixture into small, bite-sized balls, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a plate or tray.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, add the chicken balls in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 7

Fry the chicken balls for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked through. You can test doneness by cutting into one to ensure no pink remains inside.

Step 8

Remove the cooked chicken balls from the pan and drain them on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 9

Serve the chicken balls hot with mint chutney, yogurt dip, or ketchup. Enjoy!
