Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cardamom
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground cloves
  • 0.75 cups Brewed chai tea (strong, cooled)
  • 0.25 cups Whole milk
  • 0.5 cups Vegetable oil
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease the muffin cups with cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves until well combined. Set aside.

Step 3

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together cooled, brewed chai tea, milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 4

Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour the wet ingredients into the center. Gently stir with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Step 5

Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Step 7

Remove the muffin tin from the oven and let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

Once cooled, dust the tops of the muffins with powdered sugar for an optional touch of sweetness before serving.
