Ingredients

  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 cup Herbs (e.g., mint, parsley, or rosemary)
  • 0.5 cup Edible flowers (optional)
  • 1 cup Small fruits (e.g., berries or citrus slices)

Directions

Step 1

Gather two nesting bowls: one larger (to form the outer part of the ice bowl) and one smaller (to create the cavity of the bowl). Ensure the smaller bowl is at least 2 inches smaller in diameter than the larger bowl.

Step 2

Fill the larger bowl about 1/3 full with water. Add herbs, edible flowers, and small fruits to the water, spreading them evenly to achieve a decorative look.

Step 3

Carefully place the smaller bowl inside the larger bowl, centering it. Push it down gently so that the water level rises to the edges of the larger bowl, but ensure it doesn’t overflow. Use tape or a weight (like a can or jar) to keep the smaller bowl in place and prevent it from floating.

Step 4

Place the setup in the freezer and freeze for 24 hours, or until completely solid.

Step 5

Once frozen, remove the bowls from the freezer. Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes to slightly loosen. Gently twist and lift the smaller bowl out, then remove the ice bowl from the larger bowl. Alternatively, you can run warm water over the outside of the bowls for a few seconds to help release them.

Step 6

Store the ice bowl in the freezer until ready to use. To serve, place it on a shallow plate or tray to catch any melting ice, and fill it with chilled items of your choice. Enjoy!
