Ingredients

  • 500 grams large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 4 units garlic cloves, minced
  • 120 milliliters dry white wine
  • 1 unit lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp thoroughly under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the shrimp with smoked paprika, sweet paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to evenly coat and set aside.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes on one side without moving them to allow a slight sear.

Step 6

Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until pink and opaque.

Step 7

Pour in the white wine and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate and the sauce to reduce slightly.

Step 8

Stir in the lemon juice, red chili flakes, and half of the chopped parsley. Cook for 1 more minute, coating the shrimp in the sauce.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with the remaining parsley.

Step 10

Serve immediately with crusty bread, over rice, or as a standalone dish.
