Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, freshly grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.

Step 2

Fill a medium-sized pot with water and bring it to a boil. Blanch the broccoli florets in the boiling water for 2 minutes, then immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, remaining sesame oil, and water. Add the sauce mixture to the skillet, stirring to combine.

Step 5

Sprinkle the red pepper flakes into the skillet and mix well.

Step 6

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, tossing them gently to coat with the sauce. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the broccoli to a serving dish.

Step 8

Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
