Ingredients

  • 2 large Apple
  • 2 large Pear
  • 2 medium Banana
  • 1 cup Pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained if canned)
  • 0.5 cup Orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Butter

Directions

Step 1

Peel and core the apples and pears, then dice them into bite-sized chunks.

Step 2

Peel the bananas and slice them into thick rounds.

Step 3

Heat a large sauté pan or skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.

Step 4

Add the diced apples and pears to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.

Step 5

Stir in the pineapple chunks and cook for another 3 minutes.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix together the orange juice, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.

Step 7

Pour the orange juice mixture over the fruit in the pan and gently stir to coat all the fruit evenly.

Step 8

Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the fruit is tender but not mushy.

Step 9

Add the banana slices to the pan in the last 2 minutes of cooking to warm through.

Step 10

Serve immediately as is, or top with a dollop of yogurt, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a sprinkle of granola for added texture.
