Ingredients

  • 8 pieces hot dogs
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 slices sliced cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 0.25 cups ketchup (optional, for dipping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean work surface. Press the seams together to create one large sheet of dough.

Step 3

Using a knife or a pizza cutter, slice the dough into thin strips, about ¼-inch wide.

Step 4

If using cheese, cut each slice into quarters to create small rectangles. Place a piece of cheese on each hot dog before wrapping.

Step 5

Wrap the strips of dough around each hot dog, slightly overlapping to mimic the look of mummy bandages. Leave a small gap of exposed hot dog near the top to create a 'face.'

Step 6

Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet with some space in between each one.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and puffy.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Use a toothpick dipped in mustard to dot eyes onto the exposed part of each hot dog to complete the 'mummy' effect.

Step 9

Serve warm with ketchup (or other preferred condiments) on the side for dipping.
