Ingredients

  • 300 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips or bars
  • 40 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 40 grams Powdered sugar
  • 100 grams Mini marshmallows
  • 20 grams Sprinkles or edible decorations (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler or microwave. If using a microwave, heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each interval to prevent burning.

Step 2

Using a silicone half-sphere mold, add about 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate to each mold cavity. Use the back of a spoon or a pastry brush to coat the entire interior of the mold evenly.

Step 3

Place the coated molds in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to set the chocolate. Repeat the process to create a second layer of chocolate for extra durability.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the unsweetened cocoa powder and powdered sugar together until well combined. This will serve as your hot chocolate mix.

Step 5

Once the chocolate shells have set completely, gently remove them from the silicone mold.

Step 6

Fill half of the chocolate shells with 1 tablespoon of the cocoa mixture and a small handful (about 6-8) of mini marshmallows.

Step 7

To seal the chocolate balls, heat a plate in the microwave for 1-2 minutes until warm. Take an empty chocolate shell and press its edge lightly against the warm plate to slightly melt the rim.

Step 8

Quickly and carefully place the melted edge of the empty shell on top of a filled shell to create a sphere. Gently press them together and smooth the seam if necessary.

Step 9

Decorate the sealed chocolate balls by drizzling melted chocolate on top or adding sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.

Step 10

Allow the hot chocolate balls to set for 10 minutes. To enjoy, place one ball in a mug and pour 1 cup (240ml) of hot milk over it. Stir until fully dissolved and enjoy your creamy hot chocolate.
